The recent report of the Dutch Environment and Transport Inspectorate on the waste situation on Bonaire shows once again how complicated it is to properly manage waste on islands. The Expert Group Dutch Waste & Environmental Technologies (EG DWET) of the Water Alliance is therefore organizing a Knowledge Session on “Waste processing on islands: Best practices and opportunities for Dutch companies”. The speakers are:
– Lars Wever, Project Manager Waste and Cleaning of the Municipality of Texel about “Recycle plan 2024-2030 Texel: the two-phase approach”
– Ansje Löhr, Associate Professor Environmental Sciences of the Open University about “Waste management now and in the future on Flores, Indonesia”
– Jan Driegen, Board Member of BioBox-E BV about BONCIRC: Solution for organic waste on Bonaire
– Matthew Halley, Founder of SoualiGas BV about gasification of waste on Sint Maarten
The session (incl. Q&A) will be moderated by Bert Keesman, chairman of the EG DWET. Place and time: Thursday 14 Nov at 12:00 hrs in the Knowledge Theater at the Vakbeurs Recycling in Gorinchem. Welcome!
