A robot-focused cluster within a circular economy-oriented company might sound unconventional, but it aligns perfectly with our mission. While most of our projects target recycling and recovery, the pinnacle of the R-ladder—repair and reuse—ties seamlessly with HYPERIOS. This cluster aims to robotize and automate inspection processes to reduce maintenance costs, enable reuse, and facilitate tools for circularity in large infrastructure markets. Here’s a look at some of our collaborations:

**GOLLIATH**
At CORE, we’ve integrated advanced object detection models with the Rover Robotics Zero rover’s ROS2 codebase. This integration allows the rover to follow individuals wearing specific safety gear or QR codes. We are currently enhancing its path planning using fiducials, object avoidance, and GPS localization for mission planning and geofencing. Our primary focus is on data collection for asset management in the rail sector and NEN2767 inspections.

**SPOT – SYRACUSE**
Our inaugural HYPERIOS project aimed to assist Syracuse. Together, we trained a Boston Dynamics SPOT robot to demonstrate initial steps in geofencing and following fiducials. Additionally, we developed rudimentary systems for remote control of SPOT, enabling remote visual access through connected cameras.
Currently, we are collaborating with Syracuse, ProRail, and Avular to advance this project, aiming to significantly simplify inspections in the rail sector.

**WINNETOU**
Beyond robotics, we emphasize integrating AI into both new and existing use cases. The Winnetou project exemplifies this, as we develop a system to protect unguarded rail crossings without the substantial investments required for traditional guarded crossings (beams, lights, and elaborate cabling).
We achieve this by combining sensors like Doppler radars and microphones to detect oncoming trains and linking these detections to signal posts.
